Ruth Aleather �Lee� Faucett Cottongim, 65, formerly of Cartersville passed away Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Tranquility House in Austell. Born September 16, 1942 in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late William �Willie� August Faucett and the late Evelyn Aleather Adams Faucett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Denver Boone Cottongim Jr. Mrs. Faucett had retired as a seamstress from Nantucket and was a member of Lakewood Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Thomason of Oklahoma and Pamela Cottongim of Cartersville; her granddaughters, Brandy Gilmer of Marietta, Alyssa Salamon of Cartersville, and Cheyenne Salamon of Cartersville; her brothers, Billy Faucett of Stockbridge and Danny Faucett of Dothan, Alabama; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Livingston of Hiawassee; and her dear and special friends, Peggy and David Nutt, and their daughters, April Wood, Jennifer Skrine, and Amy Gullion.
Graveside funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008 in Forest Lawn Cemetery in College Park with Rev. Donald Brumbelow officiating. Serving as pallbearers were David Nutt, Art Skrine, Ronn Gullion, and Donald Brumbelow.
A private, family viewing was held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family received friends at the funeral home afterwards.
