Mrs. Ruth Ann Slusher, 70, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Bartow County, born February 25, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Eugene Williams and the late Edna Baker Williams.
Mrs. Slusher was a member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family, doing crossword puzzles, painting, doing crafts and flowers.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Dwayne Slusher of Cartersville; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Willie Loyd of Cartersville; her sons and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Dwayne Day of Cartersville, David Day of Taylorsville and Terry and Brandy Day of Cartersville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Larry Tackett of Taylorsville and Elizabeth Satcher of Cartersville; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Marga Williams, Henry and Michelle Williams and Raymond and Linda Williams all of Taylorsville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Slusher will be carried to the church on Thursday to lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Nolan, Mark Shankles, Joshua Day, Brannon Prewett, Chris Day and Michael Satcher. Trenton Day, Tyler Day, Johnny Satcher and Chris Hammonds will serve as honorary pallbearers.
