Ruth Wilson

Mrs. Ruth Buchanan Wilson, 81 of Cartersville passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Autumn Years Assisted Living Center in Cartersville. Born December 6, 1926, she was a life-long resident of Bartow County and was the daughter of the late Alex Buchanan and the late Kate Cannon Buchanan. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Rev. John Willie Wilson.



Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She retired as the Director of Medical Records from the Cartersville Medical Center. She also served for several years as the office manager and bookkeeper for Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Ruth was a member of Atco Baptist Church and proudly assisted her husband in his ministry as a Southern Baptist preacher.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Carter and Kathy Woody Wilson of Adairsville; her grandchildren, Chess and Mandy Wilson of Adairsville and Katie Wilson Foster and her husband Matt of Ranger; her great-grandchildren, Drew Wilson, Macy Wilson, Luke Foster, and Andrew Foster; her brothers and sisters, Hugh and Erma Buchanan of Marietta, Dot Ford of Cartersville, Irene Blair of Acworth, Lloyd and Charlotte Buchanan of Cartersville, and Fred and Vivian Buchanan of LaGrange; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her Autumn Years family.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Fred Buchanan and Rev. Don Hazel officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ruth�s nephews: Butch Buchanan, Danny Buchanan, Russell Buchanan, Jeff Buchanan, Andy Buchanan, Steve Buchanan, and Mark Buchanan.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
