Sallie Roberson

January 3, 1915 — March 26, 2010

Sallie Maud Roberson, 95, passed away peacefully at her home after an extended illness on Friday, March 26, 2010 surrounded by her family. Born January 3, 1915, she was the daughter of the late George N. Waters and the late Ethel Pierce Waters. She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Cecil J. Roberson, who passed away May 10, 1997; her sons, Bobby Roberson and Kenny Roberson; her daughter, Ruth (Nell) Chappell; her great-grandsons, Tyler Roberson, Dalton Roberson, and Triston Reynolds; and her great-granddaughter, Courtney Cline.



A homemaker her entire life, Sallie enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She loved raising her family and listening to gospel music. Sallie also loved her church, Canton Road Church of God.



Survivors include her four sons, W.C. Roberson of Rome, Melvin Roberson of Rome, George Roberson of Cartersville, and Ricky Roberson of Taylorsville; her five daughters, Mary Cline of Taylorsville, Shirley Gentry of Taylorsville, Sylvia Robinson of Aragon, Donna Butler of Rome, and Sheila Reynolds of Rome; her brother, Charles Waters of Taylorsville; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Dewayne McCreary, Rev. Danny Waters, and Rev. Phillips Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Reynolds, Scott Gentry, John Roberson, Michael Roberson, Billy Cline, Rodney Robinson, Ricky Roberson, Jr., and Jimmy Chappell. All of the other grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Monday.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
