Mr. Samuel D. Simmons, 38, of Euharlee, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Born in Cobb County, August 4, 1974, he was the son of William Dee Simmons and Norene Davis Simmons. Samuel was self-employed as an electrician but was a race car driver most of his life. He was a member of Revolution in Canton and the Haiti-Cheri Medical Mission.
He is survived by his wife, Mandy Martin Simmons of Euharlee; his children, Skyler and Logan Simmons of Euharlee; his step-son, Andrew Bailey; his parents, William and Norene Simmons of Taylorsville; and his maternal grandmother, Bertice Owenby of Taylorsville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Jason Gerdes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steven Osmond, Jake Knowles, Coy Beanland, Clint Smith, Charles Swaney, Jason Daves and Gerami Henson.
