Sandra Caldwell

October 1, 1945 — March 17, 2024

Mrs. Sandra Gail Clark Caldwell, 78 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Sunday morning March 17, 2024 at Piedmont Cartersville Hospital. Born in Lafayette, of Walker County Georgia, on October 1, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Lee and Ida Tate Clark.

A member of the Methodist faith, Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Mr. Laymon Bruce Caldwell. Bruce and Sandra enjoyed a lifetime together raising a family of four children and multiple grandchildren. Sandra was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother, and known to all as "JuJu". Although she was never a traveler, Sandra was an avid reader, and traveled the world through her love of books. Her passion for flower gardening was apparent every spring and summer when her yard was in full bloom. Sandra spent many years working for the school system in Bartow County. She worked in the cafeteria and also in the special education department until she retired early to spend time with her grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were spent with her husband scouring flea markets and yard sales looking for that unusual treasure or oddity to add to their ever growing collection.

Survivors include her four children, Cullen Caldwell (Keri), Lucie Brown (Allan), Laura Wright (Tony) and Andy Caldwell (Libby). Brother Jerry Clark of Lafayette. Sisters in Law Betty Clark and Beverly Caldwell of Lafayette and Margaret Pell of Alabama. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. Mrs. Caldwell is preceded in death not only by her dear husband Bruce, but grandson Jeremy Shinall, brothers Dewey "Tubby" Clark, Wayne Clark, Bill Clark, Robert "Bobby" Clark, Lebron Clark, Jimmy Clark, Tate Clark, and sister Virginia Deering.

A graveside service is planned for April 6, 2024 at 1pm, at Mount Carmel Cemetery, East Broomtown Road, Lafayette, 30728, Walker County Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to your local charity or church of your choice.
