Sandra G. Gunn, 52, of Cartersville passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Heartland Hospice House. Born January 6, 1957 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of Mary Lee Weaver and the late Houston Turner. Sandra had been a member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church for over forty years and was very active with the youth group. Prior to working as legal secretary for Superior Court Judge Scott Smith, she worked as legal secretary to District Attorney Joe Campbell. She was preceded in death by her father, Houston Turner; her step-father, Harold (Pete) Weaver; and a nephew, Ronald �Chip� Turner, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Freddie L. Gunn of Cartersville; her son, Joshua Martin and his girlfriend, Alison Sperling of White; her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Mitch O�Neal of White; her step-son, Justin L. Gunn of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Lane and Colton O�Neal of Cartersville; her mother, Mary Lee Weaver of Cartersville; her brothers and sister-in-law, Ronnie Turner and Calvin and Janice Turner, all of Cartersville; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Boyd McBurnett of Tyrone, Anderea and David Williams, and Shelia and Eddie Mills, all of Cartersville; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Annis and Fred Gunn of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Rowland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Ringwalt, Judge Scott Smith and District Attorney Joe Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronny Nally, Jimmy Rutledge, Randy Reese, Jeff Baker, Lance McCoy, Randy Carlisle, Felton Berry, and Reid Rogers. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers and will include Dave Williams, Asa Williams, Zegan Mills, Matthew Evans, Kevin Turner, Jacob Turner, Michael Gunn, Jason Gunn, Bryan Hall, Brian Silvers, and the late Chip Turner. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home on Thursday at 2:45 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 3 � 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 12 � 2 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Rowland Springs Baptist Church Youth Ministry.
