Sandra "Sandy" Elizabeth Weekley, age 81, sadly passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in Lilburn, Georgia.
Sandy was born in Elkins, West Virginia to the late Joseph & Roselyn Ervin. She is also preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Edwin Weekley and her second husband John Joseph Chmielewski; her brother John Robert Ervin; and her granddaughter Morgan Elizabeth Weekley.
She is survived by her children Rhonda Gajeske (Rod Gajeske) and Russ Weekley (Carolyn Nichols Weekley); her grandchildren Garrison Fraley, Amanda Menefee, Savanna Fraley, Hannah Weekley, and Kenny Menefree; and her great-grandchildren Blakelyn Fraley, Bristol Fraley, and Jaxson Menefee, who is due to arrive in September of 2023.
Sandy graduated high school in 1959 and attended college at Marshall University on the Ford Foundation scholarship where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1964. She retired as an elementary school teacher from the Cobb County School District and was grateful for her opportunity to love children. She was the President of Women of the Church, 1st place winner in the West Virginia Oratory Competition, and was a dedicated philanthropist volunteering for her local Vacation Bible School, hospital, and local corrections facility as a chaplain.
A small service will be held for Sandy at the Providence Cemetery Mausoleum in Cartersville, Georgia on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m.
