Sara Shearer

Ms. Sara Elizabeth Stone Shearer, age 97, of Jacksonville, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, September 5, 2008.



Ms. Shearer was born July 2, 1911, the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas W. Stone and Lula Hasseltine Barron Stone. She was a homemaker and a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. Ms. Shearer was one of eight children and worked in Rome, GA and Jacksonville, FL. She spent most of her latter years in Jacksonville to be with her family.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert �Bob� and Carol A. Shearer of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Jill Shearer Caron and her husband, Mike of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Michael A. Shearer and wife, Kay of San Diego, CA, and Matthew T. Shearer of St. Augustine, FL; three great-grandchildren, Alison Caron, Emily Caron, and Christopher Caron all of Port Saint Lucie, FL; and a sister and son-in-law, Bess and Malcolm Street of Deltona, FL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held Friday, September 12, 2008, at 1:30 P.M. at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.



The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 12:30 P.M. until the funeral hour.
