Mrs. Sara Jacqueline (Jackie) Taylor , age 77, of 6 Shadowood Drive, Rome, died Saturday June 5, 2004 in a Rome hospital following a brief illness.Mrs. Taylor was born in Gordon County, April 25, 1927, daughter of the late, Bartow Webster Barrett, Sr., and Myrtle Smith Barrett, but had resided in Rome and Floyd County since 1949. She had been associated with both Enloe Drugs and Ward's Pharmacy for several years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church and enjoyed baking cakes, working with her flowers, and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Charles E. Barrett, Raymond A. Barrett, Melba B. Billingsley, Bartow W. Barrett, Jr., and Marjorie B. Copeland.Survivors include: her husband, William Thermon Taylor to whom she was married, Augusts 13, 1943, daughters and son in law, Susan and R. H. Coley and Joy Howell all of Rome, sisters, Virginia Jenkins of Shannon, and Mary Karlovich of Rome, a brother, Roy C. Barrett of Tunnell Hill, grandchildren, Crystal Maynor and John Durden, Leigh and Mitch Howell, great grandchildren, Coppi and Perry Durden all of Rome, several nieces and nephews also survive.Memorial services for Mrs. Taylor will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, June 7, 2004 in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Lambert and Rev.
