Sarah Cawthon

Mrs. Sarah Jane Saling Cawthon age 68, of Rome, GA, died Monday, November 22, 2010, at her residence.



Mrs. Cawthon was born in Louisville, KY, on July 12, 1942, the daughter of the late Albert and Frances Emily Saling. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church and worked at Wal-mart for over thirteen years. Mrs. Cawthon enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, hummingbirds, and her pets (bird and dogs). She was a social butterfly and loved people. Mrs. Cawthon lived for her family.



Survivors include her husband, Helmut Cawthon; four sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Janet Cawthon, Kevin and Karen Cawthon, Tommy and Jennifer Cawthon, and Charlie and Kristy Cawthon; grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Chad, Angel, Madison, Lily, and Haygen Cawthon; and a sister, Sandy Saling of Columbus, GA.



A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 26, 2010, at 4:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Dudley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at 4:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel.



The following have been asked to serve as pallbearers and honorary escort, please meet in the Oaknoll Chapel by 3:30 P.M. on Friday: Charlie, Tommy, Kevin, Ricky, Angel, Marty, Lily, and Chad Cawthon, Reed Biggers, Dedrick Floyd, Doug Gann, Joel Jones, and the deacons of Pisgah Baptist Church.



Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Pisgah Baptist Church, 5603 Alabama Road, Rome, GA 30165.
