Sharon Okros

Ms. Sharon Anne Okros, 71, of Adairsville, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at her residence.

Born September 3, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late John Giffen and the late Rosemary Bradley Giffen. Ms. Okros was of the Catholic Faith and was retired from Ford Motor Company. She was a political activist and a founding member of the How Organization. Ms. Okros was a volunteer docent at the Booth Western Art Museum and was very active in the museum's children's programs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Shaun Giffen, and John Paul Giffen.

Survivors include her sons, Brad Reed of Adairsville, and Paul Reed of Harrison Township, MI; daughter, Margaret Larson of Clinton Township, MI; sisters, Susan Hier of Washington, MI, and Shavan Giffen of Royal Oak, MI; brothers, Denis Giffen of Royal Oak, MI, and Jerry Giffen of Warren, MI; grandson, Ryan Larson; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Adairsville First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Kelly Brisendine officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Booth Western Art Museum, 501 Museum Drive, Cartersville, GA 30120 in memory of Sharon.
