Sheila Ann Adams, 64, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born August 5, 1949 in Cartersville she was the daughter of the late Virginia Jones Akins. She was also preceded in death by her friend, Melanie Harvey. Mrs. Adams was employed by the Bartow County School System until her retirement and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She loved craft projects, sewing and cooking. Mrs. Adams was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all the family and friends who loved her.

Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Wayne Adams of Cartersville; her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Glenn Brookshire of Cartersville; her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Lena Adams of Adairsville and Wesley Adams of Adairsville; her grandchildren, Tyler Brookshire, Garrett Brookshire, Jake and Bailee Adams and Dave and Darby Adams; her brothers, Tommy Akins of Cartersville and John Perry Akins of Cartersville; her sister, Alinda Kinsky of Roswell; her friends, Marilyn Olsen of Cartersville and Sue Gentry of Cartersville.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Cartersville with the Reverend Clinton Green officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions in Mrs. Adams' honor to the Salvation Army.
