Shelby Duvall

Mrs. Shelby J. Leatherwood Duvall, 73, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2012 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1939 to the late Nettie Key Leatherwood and Samuel Albert Leatherwood, Sr. Preceding her in death along with her parents is her husband of fifty seven years, Trammell W. Duvall; her brothers, Homer Leatherwood, Astor Leatherwood, Ralph Leatherwood and Sam Leatherwood, Jr.; and her sisters, Pearl Edmondson, Donnie Jackson and Doris Fowler.



Shelby was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church and loved to sing gospel music. She was one of the original members of the Temples Trio.



She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Joe Hazlewood; her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Cheryl Duvall; her grandchildren, Jessica Wells and husband, Steven, Jason Hazlewood and wife Tiffany, Tyler Duvall and Ansley Duvall; her great-grandchildren, Brook, Courtney, Alexis, Kalyrie and Jordan; her sister, Jeanette Jackson; her brother D.B. Leatherwood and a host of nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Donnie Summey, Reverend Jimmy Temples and Reverend Jack Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Jackson, Bryan Leatherwood, Randy Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Scott Duvall and Doug White. Mike Kiser, Chuck Nichols, Jason Green, Daniel Hite, Jack Darnell and Gene Morrow will serve as honorary pallbearers.
