Shirley Jenkins

Mrs. Shirley C. Jenkins, 70, of Cartersville, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Cherokee County, June 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Arley Cole and the late Annie Lee Brown Cole. She was a member of Emerson Baptist Church. Shirley worked as a custodian at Emerson Elementary School before retirement. She was a good hearted woman and was loved by the children. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Billy Joe Jenkins; and a brother, Alton �Bit� Cole.



Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James �Sonny� Jenkins and wife, Vickie; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Jenkins Fortenberry and husband, Joe, Annette Jenkins Heard and husband, Rick; her grandchildren, Laura Ann Logan Price, Caleb Heard, Ethan Heard,; her great-grandchild, Hannah Ann Price; her brothers, James Cole, Charles Cole, Wilton Cole and Olin Cole; her sisters, Dorothy Brock, Sue Ruff and Irene Money; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Danny Rampley officiating. Burial will follow in Emerson Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Logan, Terry Jordan, Gary Jones, Tim Dover, Ken Robinson and Alvin Brock. These gentlemen are asked to meet at 10:15 Tuesday at the funeral home .



The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
