Shirley Jeanette Jones May, 63, of Cartersville passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Countryside Health Center in Buchanan. Born July 15, 1944 in Waynesville, she was the daughter of the late Asbury Jones and the late Ruby Nichols Jones. Preceding her in death are her parents; her brothers, Jerry, Wayne and Bobby Jones; and her grandsons, Justin and Hunter May.

Shirley was a member of the Kingston Holiness Church, and she enjoyed reading her bible and going to church, taking care of her grandchildren, and helping others.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley May of Cartersville; six children and their spouses, Phillip and Cynthia May of Fairmount, Jody and Dawn May of Shannon, Michael and Kim May of Rome, Terry Walker of Cartersville; Debbie Andrews McMullen and Robert McMullen of Cartersville, and Randy and Linda May of Rome; six sisters and brothers, Blayne Jones of Cartersville, Sue Bell of Northport, FL, Louise Shaw, Betty Burger, Verily Jones, and Patsy Cox, all of Cartersville; one granddaughter; six grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremations Services with Rev. Doyle Hatfield, Rev. Jesse Parker and Brother James Kiser officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael, Phillip, Randy, and Jody May, Daniel Lieving, Justin Ashworth, and Larry Gilespie. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
