Shirley Sloan

Mrs. Shirley J. Sloan, 82, of Cartersville, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Starcrest Nursing Home. Born in Lone Rock, Iowa, June 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Schuyler Boynton Bates and the late Mary Delilah Householder. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sloan, to whom she was married for forty years; and a daughter, Becky Fleetwood.

Mrs. Sloan is survived by her sons, Rodney Sloan and (Joan) of Cumming and Jack Sloan and (Elaine) of Cartersville; her daughter, Sherry Yockachonis of Cartersville; one sister, Jean Moore of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Michael Boatfield officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 � 9 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
