Mr. Smiley "Bud" Williams, Jr., 82, of KJingston, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Chulio Hills Health & Rehab in Rome.
Born April 18, 1932 in Armurchee, Georgia, he was a son of the late Smiley Williams, Sr. and the late Exie Kilgore Williams. Mr. Williams was a member of Path of Christ Church in Kingston and was retired from Allied Concrete. He was a former employee of the Bartow County Sheriff's Department Rescue Unit and a member of the Kiwanis Club. Mr. Williams enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to auctions, and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Hubbard Williams; a daughter, Deborah Jo Williams; and his brothers, Horace Williams, and Johnny Williams.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Chapman of Cartersville; sons, Anthony Williams and his wife Cindy of Cartersville, Bobby Williams and his wife Lynn, also of Cartersville, Steve Williams of Kingston, and Tim Williams and his wife Beth of Cartersville; sister, Ruby Lee Williams of Cartersville; 14 grandchildren, 26, great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Johnny Atkins and The Reverend Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeremy Williams, Seth Bellamy, Timothy Guyton, Josh Guyton, Robert Cheek, and John Atkins, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Bellamy and Damian Bellamy.
