Steve Kown

August 2, 1961 — June 17, 2025

Steve Kown, 63 of Cartersville, passed away on June 17, 2025. He was born on August 2, 1961 in Cartersville to the late Luther Kown and the late Johnnie Pressley Kown. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Ronny Kown.

Steve loved sports, particularly baseball and football. His favorite teams were The braves and UGA. He was an avid bowler for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Carey Kown; children Jennifer Hoxworth, Kristi Jones, Adam Kown (Brooke), Johnathan Kown, Jacob Kown, and Brendan Kown; grandchildren Emma Jones, Savannah Brookshire, Connor Hoxworth, Mason Hoxworth, Brayden Cheek, Jayden Cheek, and Landon Kown.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Chester Brown officiating. Burial will Follow at Miller's Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the funeral home.
