Terry Steve Franklin, 57, of Kingston passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at his residence. Born March 3, 1952, he was a native of Bartow County and was the son of Eugene Franklin and Effie Lou Keeling Franklin.
Steve was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and was a 1970 graduate of Cass High School. He had been employed for CSX Railroad for thirty years and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Hackney Franklin of Kingston; his daughters, Amy Franklin of Ormond Beach, Florida and Erin and Brad Templeton of Emerson; his grandsons, Elijah Townes Templeton and William �Luke� Lucius Templeton; his brother, Barry Franklin of Acworth; his sisters, Mary Jean Franklin of Emerson and Deborah and Denver Avis, of Cartersville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Kingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Leon Smith and Rev. Joel Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Kingston Cemetery. Steve will lie in state at the church beginning at 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jimmy Williams, Jerry Branton, Tommy Jones, Mike Pinyan, Melvin Warner, and Steve White. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Pressley, Charlie Brown, Chad Hackney, Joey Tew, Mickey Ward, Jeremy Henderson, Jacob Jones, Robert Mathis, Fred Hood, Wayne Nichols and Denver Avis.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m., Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
