Terry Mundy

Terry Lee Mundy Sr, 93, of Cartersville Georgia, passed away on December 14, 2023 at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center.  He was born on August 10, 1930 in White, Georgia to the late William Mundy and the late Lillian Yancey Mundy.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Johnson; brothers, Bud Mundy and Dorsey Mundy; sisters, Emily Shinall, Louise Martin, Genola Yancey, Mabel Gossett, and Betty Woodward.

Terry served in the Air Force and in the Korean War.  He was a proud member of the Stilesboro Masonic Lodge #260.  He was known by many as a jokster; he absolutely enjoyed humor and laughter.  He loved fishing, woodworking, NASCAR, and making homemade knives.  He worked as a truck driver for Stratton & Shaw and his CB handle was "Termite" when he drove his truck.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Jannette Mundy; children, Deborrah Crowe (Larry), Sheila Lanier (Jimmy), Johnny Jenkins, and Terry Mundy Jr.; grandchildren, Chad Cox (Brittany), Chasta Helton (Tony), Jaime Bunch, Josh Gentry, and Amanda Jenkins; several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; and his sister Ann Summey.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Charles Summey officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Wednesday prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be his truck driver friends Johnny Ray, Kenny Abernathy, Barry Abernathy, Danny McElrath, Thomas Dilbeck, and Michael Collum.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be former coworkers of Terry.
