Thelma Maddox

Mrs. Thelma Morgan Maddox, age 72, of Kingston, GA, died Monday, January 26, 2009 in a local hospital.



Mrs. Maddox was born in Cherokee County, AL on August 2, 1936, the daughter of the late Roy James Morgan and Jessie Louise Sitton Morgan. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Maddox and a brother, Donald Paul Morgan.



Survivors include six children, Michael E. Maddox, Jessie Edward Maddox and his wife, Yvonne, James David Maddox, Jerry Paul Maddox and his wife, April, John Robert Maddox, and Melissa Jane Maddox; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kristin and Chad Womack, Candice Brooke Maddox, Brittany Danielle and Brandon Vanbanaroen, and Amanda Nicole and Bubba Womack; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Kilgore and Carolyn JoAnn Womack.



Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Branton and Rev. Tim Bennett officiating. Mrs. Maddox will lie-in-state at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.



The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, and Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Saturday by 1:30 P.M.: Dewayne Womack, Darrell Womack, Alan Kilgore, Wayne Selmon, Ronnie McStock, and Teddy Cochran. The honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Womack, Andy Kilgore, Erik Davenport, and Roy Murphy.
