Mrs. Thelma Jane Terhune, age 91, of Rome, GA, died Monday morning, March 22, 2004, in a local nursing facility following an extended illness.Mrs. Terhune was born in Gordon County, July 23, 1912, daughter of the late Walter Augustus and Mamie Lois West Alexander but had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and Floyd County. She was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church and a former member of Spring Creek Baptist Church, where for many years she served as a Sunday School Teacher in both the Juniors and Adult Ladies classes. She was a former employee of Lindale Mills, The Cloth Shop in Central Plaza shopping center, and also made custom draperies. She was married to the late Claude Clifford Terhune, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1988. She loved to sew, crochet, making dolls, stuffed animals and other crafts.Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Donna & Walter Baldwin, two sons and daughters in law, Claude & Bettie Terhune, Ray & Paula Terhune all of Rome, nine grandchildren, 17 great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Jane Terhune will be held Wednesday March 24, 2004, at 2pm in the Woodlawn Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Adams and Rev. Hoyt Coker officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev.
