Thomas Hilburn

Thomas "Dooley" Jerrel Hilburn, 50, of Emerson passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born on August 10, 1963 he was the son of Mary E. Borum Hilburn and the late Clyde E. Hiburn. Thomas was a carpenter and attended Damascus Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing and being around his church family. He was a loving father and especially loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother, Mary E. Hilburn; his children, T.J. Hilburn, Amanda Inman and Sonnie Waits; his step-father, J.W. Vaughn; his step-mother, Mary F. Hilburn; his grandchildren, Cameron Hilburn, Brandon Inman, Braylon Inman, Baylee Inman, Cody Barron, Joshua Waits and Heidi Waits; his brothers, sisters and their spouses, Bill and Elaine Hilburn, James and Cherry Hilburn, Robert Hilburn, Paul and Debra Hilburn, Joyce Morris, Gloria James, Jean and Wayne Reynolds, Penny and Donald Hilliard; special brother, John Hilburn; and special friend, Keith Ellis.

Funeral services will conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Kevin Hrossowyc and Bill Hilburn officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas's nephews, Jeffery Reynolds, Chris Reynolds, William Hilburn, Jr., Dusty Hilburn, Billy Hilburn and Jessie Hilburn. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
