Thomas Hope

Mr. Thomas P. Hope, 62, of Norcross, died peacefully Monday, May 12, 2014, at the home of his daughter, following a brief illness.
Born in Troy, New York, June 12, 1951, he was the son of Leo Hope and Marjorie McNamara Hope. Tom was a graduate of Sacred Heart School and Catholic Central High School in 1969. He received his undergraduate degree from Union College in 1973 and a masters of accounting from the University of Albany-SUNY where he became a Certified Public Accountant. He was employed by Cluett & Peabody in their Troy and Georgia offices working as an accounting manager for several firms located in the Atlanta area. In recent years, Tom found the profession he most enjoyed, teaching. He distinguished himself at Gwinnett Technical College as an accounting professor.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two loving daughters, Whitney Bailey (Ted) of White and Audrey Ellison (Corey) of White; his brothers, James of Wynantskill, William of Albany, and Robert of South Colonie; and his sister, Kathleen of Troy. Most precious to him were his surviving grandchildren, Zoe and Brock Bailey and Jack Ellison.
