Thomas Hoyt �T.J.� Jefferson, Jr., 62, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Floyd County on January 12, 1948, he was the son of Edna Popham Jefferson and the late Thomas Hoyt �Tex� Jefferson, Sr.
T.J. attended Creekside Fellowship Church. He was employed by BellSouth for many years and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. T.J. never met a stranger, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, hiking, and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Lowry Jefferson of Cartersville; his children, Denise Arnold and her husband, John, Angie Wilson and Alan Ross, Chris Grant and his wife, Cheri, Kim Jefferson, and Matt Jefferson; his mother, Edna Jefferson of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Nathan Russell, Steven Wilson, Mitchell Swilley, Trisha Arnold, Christian Kudary, McKinsey Kudary, Wheeler Knight, Madison Jefferson, and Tyler Grant; his sister, Frankie Jefferson of Sacremento, California; his niece, Sherrie Ford of Santa Rosa, California; his nephew, John Ford of Santa Rosa, California; his special friend, BoBo; and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Michael Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Sutton, Brit Bearden, Ted Gregg, Ray Starnes, Harry Bishop, and Jerry Prewett. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home on Friday at 1:15 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
