Thomas Lee Sligh, 67, of Cartersville passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center. Born October 23, 1942 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late George Robert Sligh and the late Leanna Shepherd Sligh. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Talmadge Sligh and Clyde Sligh; and his sister, Alice Sligh Brock.
For years Tom had owned and operated Sligh�s Garage in Dallas. After retiring as an automotive mechanic, he worked as a mechanic on a farm. Tom enjoyed working on cars and fishing, and he loved going to church at the Lindale Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Sligh; his daughters, Lina Childers of Holly Spring, Dina Binkley of Dixon, Tennessee, and Sherry Sligh of Dixon, Tennessee; his step-sons, Billy Wayne Brock of Bessemer, Alabama and Thomas Lee Brock of Cartersville; his brother, Billy L. Sligh of Dallas; his sister, Doris Martin of Cartersville; and sixteen beloved grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Kevin Eddy and Rev. Billy Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Church of God Cemetery on Dallas Mountain.
Serving as pallbearers will be Woody Sharpe, John Davis, Terry Surratt, Devin Surratt, Robert Forsyth, and Jason Loner. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Sunday.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Saturday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
