Thomas Larry Smith, 80, of Cartersville died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his residence. Born September 19, 1929 in Albertville, Alabama he was the son of the late Clayton Anais Smith, and the late Izora Bradley Smith. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Byron Lee Sides; and seven brothers and sisters.
Thomas served his country in the United States Army and later was employed as a traffic officer for the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1982. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Albertville, Alabama.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Payne Smith; his son, Gary Smith of Macon; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Terry Sides of White; and his sister, Amy Bell of South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Ronnie Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 � 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
