Thomas Otis Taylor, a lifelong resident of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 5th, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on Saturday, October 9th, 1965, in the heart of Cartersville, Thomas carried an unwavering love for his hometown throughout his life.

Thomas was a devoted brother and uncle, cherished by those who knew him for his kind heart and adventurous spirit. He is survived by his sister, Karen Taylor Martin, and his half-sister, Lee Manner. An adored uncle, Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love found in his nieces and nephews: Memery Barrett, Megan Barrett, Josh Barrett, Chasity Newborn, Marshall Byrd, Allisa Ochoa, Vanessa Ochoa, Marcus Byrd, Sarah Hayes, Donny Jones, and Kiersten Hayes. Additionally, his spirit will live on in the heart of his great-niece, Aleah Barrett, whose arrival is eagerly anticipated.

Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond and Wanda Taylor, as well as his sister, Tina Taylor James, Thomas is now reunited with them in peace.

A man of simple pleasures, Thomas found joy in the beauty of nature. He loved fishing, where the promise of the morning reverberates with every gentle ripple of water. An avid buck hunter, he embraced the calls of the wild.

One of his life’s greatest pleasures was the time spent with his dear niece, Memery. He delighted in buying her first dirt bike and enjoyed the companionship of scooter rides. A proud uncle, he was often seen on the sidelines of her cheerleading games, a steadfast supporter.

Thomas Otis Taylor will be deeply missed by those privileged to call him family and friend. His life was a testament to quiet strength and the kind of love that is enduring simply through shared moments of everyday acts.
