Timothy Shane Abernathy, 41, of White, died peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014.
Born March 12, 1972 in Cartersville, he was a son of William Barry Abernathy and Vivian Lee Posey Abernathy. Shane was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver. He loved to fish, and enjoyed NASCAR and sports. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, W. B. Abernathy, and an uncle, J. T. Shepherd.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Carisa Abernathy; daughter, Allison Abernathy of White; sons, Dustin Abernathy, Dawson Abernathy, and Levi Matthews, all of White; brothers, Lamar Abernathy and his wife Christy of Cartersville, and Toby Abernathy and his wife Susan of Taylorsville; uncle, Kenny Abernathy and his wife Brenda of Cartersville; granddaughters, Cheyenne Abernathy and Anna Abernathy, both of White; maternal grandmother, Joyce Crymes and her husband Jimmy of Emerson; maternal grandfather, Tommy Posey of Cartersville; paternal grandmother, Clara Abernathy of Cartersville; aunts, Debbie Shepherd of Dallas and Debra Moon of Cartersville; mother and father-in-law, Delmar and Darlene Ashe of White; brothers-in-law, Shane Ashe and Wayne Ashe; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Billy Munday and The Reverend Michael Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Lamar Abernathy, Toby Abernathy, Kenny Abernathy, Andy Posey, James Crymes, Shane Ashe, and Dustin Abernathy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barry Abernathy, Eric Shepherd, Derek House, David Sharpe, Jason Alexander, and Andy Abernathy.
