Timothy Smith

Mr. Timothy Smith, age 59, of 653 Woods Road, Rome died Wednesday afternoon, August 8, 2007 at a local medical center.

Mr. Smith was born in Rome, Georgia on April 13, 1948, the son of the late Ed Smith and Ulee Moon Smith. He attended Coosa High School and was retired from pulpwooding. Mr. Smith loved fishing, refinishing antique furniture, gardening and working with flowers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Lee Cherry, a brother, Robert Smith, and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith.

Survivors include one son; Brian Smith of Cedar Bluff, Al; two daughters and sons-in-law; Robin and Billy Martin of Cedar Bluff, AL and Lee Ann and Allen Pledger of Rome; one sister and brother-in-law; Dorothy and Roy Bailey; brothers and sisters-in-law; Frank Smith, David and Cordelia Smith, William and Joyce Smith, Millard Smith and James Smith; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; special friend, Lee Ann Oaks. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 11:00 am Saturday morning at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home this evening (Friday) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
