T.J. Freeman, Jr.

Mr. Third Johnson (T.J.) Freeman, Jr., age 86, of 26 Conn Street, Rome, passed away on Monday evening, June 14, 2004 at a local hospital.T.J. was born on July 18, 1917 in Acworth, Georgia the son of the late T.J. Freeman, Sr. and Laura Inda Prater Freeman of Tococa, Georgia. He was a member of the West Rome Baptist Church and a retiree from General Electric Company. T.J. was a Ham Radio Operator (NC4G) and a member of the Georgia Single Sideband Association, a Mason with the Cherokee Lodge #66 F & AM, and an Yaarab Shiners, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Atlanta, GA. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid reader. T.J. was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Edward Grimsley Freeman and three brothers, Garland Freeman, Cecil Freeman and Hugh Freeman.Survivors include his wife, Alice Juanita Freeman; daughter and son in-law, Virginia Alice Langley and Tommy Langley of Snellville; daughter in-law, Joyce Freeman of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Shelley (Michael) Kohn of Buford, Mark Freeman of Conyers, Alice Langley of Snellville and Joshua Langley of Snellville; four great grandchildren; sister in law, Virginia Freeman of Rome; niece, Joyce (Doug) Cates of Rome. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.Graveside and interment services will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ken Oates officiating. The Cherokee Lodge #66 F & AM will be in charge of Masonic Rites.A called communication will be held at 10:00 am at the Cherokee Lodge #66 F & AM for the purpose of attending T.J.
