Tommy Lanier Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in LaGrange, Georgia, Tommy spent his later years in Acworth, GA, where he continued to touch the lives of those around him with his kindness and unwavering faith.
Tommy was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served his country with honor. He carried the discipline and dedication he learned in the military into his civilian life, co-founding Superior Electric Contractors with his late brother, Ronnie Lanier. His work ethic and integrity were evident in every project he undertook.
A man of deep faith, Tommy loved Jesus and dedicated much of his life to studying God's Word. His spiritual journey was a cornerstone of his existence, providing him with strength and guidance throughout his life. Tommy's devotion to his faith was matched only by his love for his family, especially his beloved wife, Nancy. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, as they shared a love that was as enduring as it was profound.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Lanier, and their children: Kathy Willard (Keith), Jimmy Lanier (Sheila), Sherri Fortenberry (Ed), and Michael Lanier. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. He leaves behind his sister, Sandra Kendrick, and sisters-in-law Marie Landers, Linda Lanier, and Joyce Riley. He was also cherished by his brother-in-law Jack Ramsey and his brother and sister-in-law Rodney and Carolyn Ramsey.
Preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Mildred Laureen Lanier, his brothers Robert and Ronnie Lanier, and his grandson Eddie Lanier, Tommy is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
Tommy's legacy of love and dedication will be honored on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm.
