Tommy Boone, Sr.

February 4, 1930 — July 20, 2009

Mr. Tommy A. Boone, Sr. age 79, of 106 Friar Tuck Road, Rome, GA, died Monday, July 20, 2009.



Mr. Boone was born in Mount Olive, NC on February 4, 1930, the son of the late Charles S. Boone and Ora Belle Mathis Boone. He was a member of Mizpah United Methodist Church for over forty years and served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Boone owned and operated Action Business Service. He was an avid guitar and bass player. Also, he was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Boone on December 18, 2001 and a son, James C. Boone on July 19, 2005.



Mr. Boone is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Diane Boone of Suwanee, GA and Patrick and Char Boone of California; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and Douglas King of Armuchee, GA; six grandsons, Micah Boone of Armuchee, GA, Cole Boone of Suwanee, GA, Travis Boone of FL, D.J. King of Armuchee, GA, and Austin and Zackery Boone of NC; four granddaughters, Emilee Clemons of Suwanee, GA, Courtney King of Armuchee, GA, Madison King of Armuchee, and Allison King of Armuchee, GA; and great-grandchildren, Avarie and Kailyn Clemons of Suwanee, GA.



A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 24, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Canuel officiating. Interment will follow in the Mizpah United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 of the American Legion Honor Guard conducting military graveside rites.



The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel by 1:30 P.M. on Friday: Bradley Kerce, Joshua Kerce, Chuck Hyde, Keith Hyde, Ray Flemming, and Josh Gordon.
