Trammell C. �Tiny� Williams, 87, of Cartersville passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born May 9, 1922 in Calhoun, he was the son of the late Harvey Homer Williams and the late Zelma Jane Clayton Williams. He was also preceded in death by wife, Helen Suggs Williams; his twin brother, Travis Williams; and his sister, Mary Gates.
Trammell spent most of his life working in commercial construction. Early in his career, he worked for J.A. Jones Construction in Atlanta and assisted on the refurbishment of the capital building and on the construction of Allatoona Dam. For most of his career, he worked with his long time friend and business partner, Jim Huey, at Titleist Building Systems in Douglasville where he was a vice president and construction superintendent.
Trammell was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WW II in the Burma/Chinese campaign. He was also a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he was saved. When Trammell wasn�t working and spending time with his family, he enjoyed fishing with his friends.
Survivors include his children, Clayton Williams and his wife, Janie, of Panama City Beach, Florida, Trammell H. Williams and his wife, Debra, of Cartersville, and Vanessa Jackson and Billy Cornwell of Cartersville; his grandchildren, R. Shane and Kim Jackson, Melissa and Graham Allen, Gina and Dave Wilson, Philip Williams, and Tamra and Pat Shaughnessy; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. E.C. Chatham officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with full military honors provided by American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
