Truman Ledford

Mr. Truman Ledford, 61, of Cartersville passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born in Bartow County on October 7, 1951 he was the son of the late Author Ledford and the late Annie Mae Williamson Ledford. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John Garney and Earnest Ledford; his sisters, Mary Perkins and Nancy Beavers; and his son, Alton Lamar "Bo" Vaughan.

Mr. Ledford was a self-employed mechanic until his retirement and was a member of the Lighted Pathway Church of God. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working with his hands doing things such as repairing lawnmowers. He loved his children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by his entire family.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Gail Mulkey Ledford; his children, Diane Bigham (David), Lisa Ann Gipson (Ron), Amanda Womack (Randy), Sherry Lafontaine (Jacob), Tammy Bradley (Jimmy), Jeff Huggit and Stacy Stoker; his grandchildren, Keith Murphy, Kyle Banks, Nicholas Gipson, Austin Gipson, Lisa Kay Neece, Nikki Womack, Mary Beth Womack, Dakota Ross, Shauna Bagley, Sharon Bradley, Autumn Roberts, Richard Ames, Brandon Stoker, Hailey Stoker, Nathan Stoker, Jimmy Wilson and Jessica Wilson; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Jacob Lafontaine, Reverend Kyle Banks and Reverend Delmar Ledford officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Wofford's Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in White.

Mr. Ledford's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
