Velma Mcnitt

February 7, 1927 — August 31, 2008

Mrs. Velma McNitt, 81, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Rome. Born in Sale City, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Marion Clark and the late Myrtha Moree Clark. Mrs. McNitt was a retired school teacher with the Bartow County School System and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.



Survivors include her husband, Chuck McNitt of Cartersville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Marcy McNitt of Kennesaw and Roger and Patti McNitt of Rome; her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Vivian Clark of Dundee, Florida; her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanelle and Bob Ankeney of La Mirada, California; her grandchildren, Colleen Cochran, Michael McNitt, Melissa McNitt, and Kristin McNitt; and her great-granddaughter, Mackenzie McNitt.



Mrs. McNitt was preceded in death by her son, Neil Barry McNitt; her daughter-in-law, Judy Shaumbach McNitt; and her grandchildren, Laura Katherine McNitt, Lindsey Miller McNitt, and Clark Bartley McNitt. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.



Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Bruce Buntley and Rev. Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger McNitt, Michael McNitt, David McNitt, Bruce McNitt, and William Cochran.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
