Vera Brown

Mrs. Vera Turner Brown, age 77, of 14 Burnett Circle, Rome, GA, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2007, in a local hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Brown was born in Pickens County, GA on November 15, 1929, the daughter of the late Brady and Emily Cagle Turner. She lived most of her life in Floyd County and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Pickens High School and attended Rhinehardt College. In addition to her parents Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Brown, Sr.; a sister, Helen Blan; and a brother, Perry Turner.

Mrs. Brown is survived by three sons, John H. Brown, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Rome; Kenneth Brown of Loganville, GA; and Alan and his wife, Teresa Sanders of Snellville, GA; and two daughters, Terrie and her husband, Charles Abrams of Rome and Kathy Brown of Dalton, GA; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Clyde Brock officiating.

Mrs. Brown will remain in the Oaknoll Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
