Vera Reid

Vera Doris James Reid, 83, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Maple Ridge Health Care. Born February 19, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Alfred Cochran and the late Roxi Cochran. She was also preceded death by her first husband, Harvey James; her second husband, James �Leroy� Reid; her sons, Larry James, Jackie James, and Robin James; her brothers, Jake Cochran, Howard �Junk� Cochran, J.M. Cochran, and Buddy Cochran; and her sisters, Rosie Hite, Ruby Reeves, Lucille Dean, Helen Lanham, and Dixie Coker.



Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jannie Conners of Cartersville, Loretta and Glenn Reynolds of Cartersville, Faye and Tommy Horner of Cartersville, and Vickie and Tony Mullinax of Eldorado, Arkansas; her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger James, Timmy and Debra James, Jody and Phyllis James, Regina James, and Linda James all of Cartersville; her sisters, Bessie Parker, Lois Gossett, and Beulah Mae Brown; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great- grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Josh James officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.



Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Carnes, Len Childers, Howard Cowart, Jason Mullinax, Donald Reynolds and Andrew Whitfield. These gentlemen are asked to be at the funeral home by 1:15 on Tuesday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
