Vickie Edwards

Mrs. Vickie Edwards, age 63, of 4315 Morton Bend Road, Rome passed away on Sunday evening, July 15, 2007 at her residence following a brief illness.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Cecil County, Maryland on July 23, 1943, the daughter of William Sands and Nellie Greathouse Sands. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the past 24 years and was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, J.L. Edwards to whom she was married to in 1980; two daughters; Phyllis Schanken, Virginia Beach, VA and Brenda Lynch, Maryland; step-daughter, Melissa Causey, Alabama; two grandsons; Van O'Banion and Timothy Schanken; two children that she raised, Jamey Edgeworth and Bridgett Moon; six step-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Boyce, Maryland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edwards will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Bohannon officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel tonight (Tuesday) from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. At other hours the family may be contacted at the residence.

The pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am Wednesday and include, Brad Bohannon, Alex Palmer, Michael Causey, David Bohannon, Cobe Causey and Tim Bohannon.
