Victor (Vic) Alexander Funck, 75, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2024. He was born in Irwinton, Georgia on November 6, 1948 to the late Olga and Alexander Funck. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Carey Thomas Funck, his brother Vaughnell Funck, and his loving in-laws, Harvey and Jeannette Carter.
Vic was a graduate of Willingham High School and Georgia Southwestern College. He joined the United States Air Force in 1970 and retired as a Major in 1990. He loved his country and was proud to serve and wear the uniform. He was also retired from EFC in Rockmart, Georgia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharron Carter Funck. He was dad to Tracy Funck and Bryan Funck both of whom he was extremely proud and loved very much. He was the brother to Valerie (Rusty) Wynn and Vanessa (Alan) McDade. He was Uncle Vic to numerous nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his dear and special friends, Scott and Carolyn Templeton.
Vic loved the outdoors, soaking up the sun, and doing yard work. He loved spending time at the beach and mountains; he also enjoyed watching WWF and NASCAR racing. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia.
Mr. Funck's service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Georgia National Cemetery located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114 with Pastor Gregg Potts officiating. Friends and family are invited to arrive at the cemetery no later than 12:15 pm to line up for the procession to the committal shelter. The United States Air Force will be performing honors for Mr. Funck.
