Victoria Strait

Victoria Gertrude Strait, 88, of Cartersville passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at her residence. Born October 15, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Victor Johnson and the late Gertrude Carlson Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frank H. Strait, who died October 27, 2000; and her brother, William Strand; her twin brother, Victor Johnson; and her sister, Virginia Rosendhal.



Victoria was a retired bookkeeper and had spent the early years of her career with Ray Kroc, the founder of the McDonald�s Corporation. After she and her husband had retired, they moved from Chicago to Florida and eventually relocated to Cartersville to be closer to their children who settled here. Victoria loved playing cards, especially pinochle, and she loved going out to eat. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.



Survivors include her daughter, Joann Allen; her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Cheryl Strait and Robert and Ruth Strait; her grandchildren, Susan, Robert, Gina, Deanna, Jon, Amy, Josh, and Aaron; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.



A celebration of Victoria�s life has been planned for 6 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends from 4 � 6 p.m. on Thursday.
