Viola Edwards

Mrs. Viola Edwards, age 77, formerly of Rome, GA died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Woodstock, GA.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Rome, GA on January 18, 1933, the daughter of the late William Hyde and Annie Kinney Hyde. She had spent most of her life in Rome and Floyd County. Prior to retirement Mrs. Edwards was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Floyd Medical Center. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church and the Bessie Myrick Sunday School Class. Mrs. Edwards took part in the Blue Grass Festival at Armuchee. In addition to her parents Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen H. Edwards, Sr. on March 3, 1992.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kristen Edwards of Woodstock, GA; three grandchildren, Nicholas Edwards, Katie Edwards and Spencer Edwards all of Alpharetta, GA.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church with Rev. Mac McCurry and Rev. Clyde Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the funeral hour at the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church.
