Mrs. Virginia W. Cole, 75, of White, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born October 29, 1938 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William Alfred Wright and the late Thresia Pyles Wright.
Virginia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong Christian and was a member of the Cartersville Church of Christ. A positive person, always concerned for others, she was a wonderful loyal friend and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a member of the Reach Out Support Group for breast cancer and participated twenty years in the Relay for Life. Virginia was active in the Cartersville Senior Center where she enjoyed line dancing. She was also active in the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, C.J. Cole of White; her daughters, Cheryl Cole of Atlanta and Carol Scoggins and her husband Greg of Cartersville; her sister, Rose Brown of Hueytown, Alabama; her brothers, Charles Wright of Hueytown, Alabama and Harold L. Wright of Glen Bernie, MD; along with two grandchildren, Justin and Jenna Scoggins both of Cartersville.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Cartersville Church of Christ with Mr. Bobby Gayton officiating. Mrs. Cole will be taken to the church on Tuesday where she will lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
