Hattie "Virginia" Morris, 90, of Cartersville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 27, 2025. Born on April 2, 1935, in Quitman, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Francis Lane Sr. and the late Hattie Victoria Adams. Virginia was also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Greene, and her brother, John Francis Lane Jr.
Virginia loved spending time with her longtime companion of 29.5 years, Lamar Harris. She would also look forward to going to Gateway Church where she would attend Ladies Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her children, Linda Starling (Lee), Steve Yarbrough (Marilyn), Tony Yarbrough (Diane), Angie Trimble (Craig), Jerry Yarbrough, and Carla Greene; longtime companion, Lamar Harris; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and siblings, Mary Tyree and Ted Adams (Brenda).
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the Parnick Jennings Funeral Chapel with Reverend Sammy Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation for friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Steven Tyree, Derek Yarbrough, and Davison Frizzell.
