Mrs. Vivian Lucile Touchstone, age 91, of Rome, GA died Thursday, May 21, 2009 in a Rome health care facility.
Mrs. Touchstone was born in Floyd County, GA on April 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Luther Wade and Lura Ada Burgess Wade. She was a member of Floyd Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Touchstone loved music and played the spoons with the Georgia Mountain Music Club. In addition to her parents Mrs. Touchstone was preceded in death by her husband, George Watson Touchstone,her daughter, Deanna Wright, son-in-law, James Merle Wright, brother, Luther B. Wade, sisters, Clara Lingerfelt and Carolyn Mull.
Survivors include three sons and spouses, Buddy and Wanda Touchstone of Rome, Thomas (Tommy) and Judy Touchstone of Armuchee and William L. Touchstone of Adairsville; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Welch of Lindale and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held Sunday, May 24, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at East View Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Clonts officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.
Those planning to attend the graveside services are asked to meet Sunday at 1:30 P.M. at the Heritage Chapel.
