On Monday April 6 ,2020 Walter Landrum Chapman Jr. loving husband and father of four passed away at the age of 47.
Walter was born on February 22, 1973 in Rome, Georgia to Walter and Barbara Chapman.
Walter graduated Cass High School in 1992. In 1993 he married Misty Walker and they raised four children together. In 1999 he began working for Cemex USA as a concrete truck driver, then plant manager and on to a dispatcher in his 21 years with the company. Walter was one of the hardest workers and best provider to his family. He was also a great friend to many, and he never met a stranger. Walter's favorite pastime was watching NASCAR, Falcons, Georgia Bulldogs Football, and the Atlanta Braves. Walter also loved getting together for family gatherings and having BBQ's whenever possible and he loved his dog Boo.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Misty Walker Chapman and three grown children, Leatta, Landrum and Shelby Chapman. A brother, Jerry and his wife Kim Haney of Cartersville. In laws, Russell and Barbara Walker of Rydal, Brother in laws, Roy Walker of Rydal, and Kevin Walker (Jennifer) of White. Several nieces and nephews and great nephews and many cousins and Aunts and Uncles. Walter had two lifelong best friends/brothers, Tim Woods (Teresa) of Cartersville and Jeffery Tant (Shelly) of Cartersville. Walter was preceded in death by a daughter Chelsey Taylor Chapman and his parents Walter Landrum Chapman Sr. and Barbara Roland Chapman.
Honorary Pallbearers are Walters work family at Ready Mix USA and Burnan Hall will deliver Eulogy and prayer at service.
On September 19, 2020 there will be a Celebration of Life Service for Walter held at Riverside Day Use Area the address is 513 Allatoona Dam Rd SE. Cartersville Ga 30121. Service will begin at 12:00 pm and a BBQ will follow. Please, if you would like plan to spend the afternoon celebrating Walter's life with us.
