Walter Goodwin Miller, 82, of Cartersville passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised on Awtrey Church Road in Acworth, he was the son of the late R.Q. Miller and the late Luna Goodwin Miller. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Fannie Keever Miller, and several half brothers and sisters.
Walter retired from Lockheed Martin in 1990 after 38 years of employment. He moved to Cartersville in 2001 and was a member of Iron Hill Baptist Church. Walter was a loving husband, father, and friend and will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his wife Beulah Wheeler Miller of Cartersville; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Joani Miller of Bradenton, Florida; his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Steve Hollingshed of Dallas; his granddaughters, Christina Miller of Bradenton, Florida and Bethany and Nathan Wilson of Bessemer, Alabama; and his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and George Bennett of Bremen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at Iron Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Guider officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Corbin, Mark Dittmer, John Dittmer, Carl Boesel, Jim Caffee, Jeremy Guider, and Lonnie Candler. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the church at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
