Walter Nelson

Walter E. Nelson, 89, formerly of Stilesboro died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in Crawfordville, Florida. Born December 9, 1920 in Bartow County, he was the son of the late Jesse Nelson and the late Clarice Goss Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, J.W. Nelson.



Mr. Nelson was a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and enjoyed gardening.



Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Louise Ledford Nelson of Sopchoppy, Florida; his beloved Chihuahua, Boss; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Ronnie Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.



Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Pryor, Matthew Pryor, Clyde Benefield, Steve Franklin, Daniel Fuqua, and Kenneth Collum. Charles Stiles and Mark Benefield will serve as honorary pallbearers. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.



The family will receive friends from 6 � 9 p.m. on Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
