Wayne Bardwell

Rev. Wayne Learue Bardwell, 63, of 9 Ferry Crossing Dr., Rome passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville. Born June 20, 1944 in East Point, Georgia, he was the son of the late Jewel Learue Bardwell and the late Doris Harris Bardwell.

A civil engineer and surveyor by profession, Rev. Bardwell was a graduate of the Covington Theological Seminary, was involved in the prison ministry of Floyd County, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carole Bardwell; his son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Lisa Bardwell; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Blake McRae; and his grandchildren, Tabitha McRae, Cameron McRae, Megan Bardwell, and Sydney Bardwell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. Burial will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 9 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
